Abstract

School conflicts represent an inherent reality of the educational environment, emerging from the diversity of values, interests, communication styles, and developmental characteristics of students and teachers. In this context, conflict should not be perceived solely as dysfunction, but rather as a natural expression of social interaction within the school community. This article examines mediation as a structured and effective approach to managing school conflicts, highlighting its role in facilitating dialogue, harmonizing divergent positions, and identifying mutually acceptable solutions. The paper outlines the fundamental principles of mediation, the mediator’s role, and the relevance of using appropriate questioning techniques in the processes of clarification and negotiation. It emphasizes that integrating mediation into school life contributes to the development of socio-emotional skills, the strengthening of interpersonal relationships, and the promotion of an educational climate grounded in respect, responsibility, and cooperation. In conclusion, mediation is not merely a dispute resolution technique, but a necessary and inherent dimension of the contemporary educational environment.
