Abstract

Whether it occurs in a social, professional, or family context, everyday communication requires that the participants possess the skill of expressing their point of view over various issues. Through normative documents the educational system proposes to build and develop such skills; in turn, the tasks included in school textbooks and tests are meant to stimulate the students’ interest. A common skill-development strategy, constructed along inter- and transdisciplinary lines, ought to implement a complex itinerary containing the following operations: understanding the issue, examining it, formulating one’s clear unequivocal point of view, amassing arguments, listing them according to validity, and then presenting them in either an oral discourse or a coherently written text, or through civilized interventions in a discussion.
Keywords: communication, text, argument, skills, transdisciplinarity.
