Abstract

Abstract: The article refers to the need to introduce specific lateral thinking techniques into the school curriculum, especially
since recent research has shown the negative impact artificial thinking has on cognitive processes, in particular when used for
literary analysis. Students should have the habit of approaching a problematic situation using lateral thinking, thus arriving at
a solution, regardless of the strategies used. Therefore, lateral thinking is needed for adapting to the rhythm of these contemporary changes and ought to become a routine in teaching and beyond. Teachers and schools can achieve a culture of thinking
in classes, shaping and directing communication, arousing the children’s curiosity, but especially by teaching it directly, which
would make it an operative instrument.
