Micro-Skills as an Integrated Tool for Economic Empowerment, Resilience, and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence in Humanitarian and European Integration Contexts Case Study: UNFPA Moldova and EC PRO DIDACTICA Programs for Refugee Women Section Articles

Abstract

Humanitarian crises amplify socioeconomic vulnerabilities and risks of gender-based violence (GBV), disproportionately affecting women and girls. This article looks at micro-skills programs in hairdressing, cooking, and tailoring developed by UNFPA Moldova in partnership with CE Pro Didactica as integrated interventions that combine humanitarian response with educational and social policies. The analysis demonstrates that these programs simultaneously contribute to economic empowerment, resilience building, GBV prevention, and Moldova’s alignment with international and European standards on lifelong learning and the Social Chapter of the acquis communautaire.
